Thousands of students and young people have taken part in SYC’s programs while in high school, college or university. Now they are working in diverse professions and activities, still sharing the values and vision of a sustainable world. The global economy has yet to reflect these values and this vision in a significant way, and a huge gap exists between the demand for meaningful work and the supply of good jobs in ethical corporations, governments, cooperatives and community organizations.
The new Urban Sustainability and Social Entrepreneurship program aims to connect and engage this demographic of young professionals hungry to put their values to work, by supporting their efforts, facilitating networking and creating and providing new tools, knowledge and connections to support their success. We are piloting this program in Montreal, working with Concordia and McGill Universities, our alumni, and partner organizations.
