New resources developed!
Maggie (BC RC) and Lauren (former Ontario RC) worked hard on a new resource over the summer - the Sustainable Campuses Resources Guide! It is the only thing you need to print - a summary guide for all the other resources. Check it out at the Resource Centre.

The 06-07 SYC Campus Reportsexternal link gives you the low-down on what campus sustainability looked like across Canada as of April 2007. Check it out! You should also definitely look into the current issue of Alternativesexternal link which has a special campus directory on green learning featuring campus sustainability initiatives from across Canada!

You can also check out the new Taking IT Global Youth Guide to Action on Climate Changeexternal link featuring members of the Canadian Youth Climate Coalition and Anjali Helferty of the Sierra Youth Coalition. The Guide will form the basis of a series of 18 workshops taking place across the country from late October to January, and is full of great info and resources.

Join the Campus Climate Challenge!

SYC is the Canadian partner of the Energy Action coalition, which is organizing the Campus Climate Challenge across the US and Canada in response to the climate crisis! It involves movie screenings, letter writing, and your university President. What are we working towards? This great short movieexternal link should give you an idea.

Find out more about the Ontario Residence Energy Reduction Challenge!

Queen's, Waterloo and Guelph are launching the Campus Climate Challenge in their residences this winter. The three schools and residences at each schools will compete against each other to reduce their energy consumption. Eternal glory (and a solar panel!) awaits the winning school, and the winning residence at each school will also receive a large prize (to be determined) and a party to celebrate their contribution to tackling climate change by reducing their greenhouse gas emissions.
