Elections

Did you know that, in the history of Canadian elections, there have been six ties?

At the federal level, there have been 34 seats won by less than 20 votes, and 42 won by less than 100 votes. In the last election, a seat was won by only 17 votes.

Youth turnout at elections has dropped to record lows in the past decade. Last election, a paltry 37.4% of eligible voters aged 18-34 bothered to show up to the polls. In contrast, 68.4% of eligible voters aged 64-75 voted. If youth had voted in these same numbers, that would translate into another 1,586,771 votes.

1,586,771 more votes. More votes for the environment. More votes for education. More votes for electoral reform. Votes for net neutrality, human rights, and sustainability. Votes that could change Canada today while focusing on the future.

So what are you going to do about it?
